Your Breath, Your Spine & Your Energy Centers!

Given that we are only aware of 

 

2000 BITS 

of information 

out of the 

 

400 BILLION BITS 

of information 

we are processing  

per second… 

 

When we argue against new knowledge… 

how much of our “awareness” is arguing?  

 

How can we know everything about  

all of the things we don’t know?  

 

 

That is the first page from the book “What the Bleep Do We Know?”.

When I read that first page in 2006… it rocked my world! 

 

Seriously… we are only consciously aware of 2000 bits of information while our nervous system is taking in 400 billion bits of information! 

 

I instantly thought… I wonder how I tap into more of my nervous system? 

 

I heard “Breathe it!” 🌀 

 

Ok! I started ‘Spinal Breathing’ right then and there. 

 

If you have ever… laid on my massage table, attended a Breath Therapy Class, had an energy session with me over the phone, subscribed to our email list, or watched our social media reels… you will know that I teach ‘Spinal Breathing’ constantly, relentlessly, and to anyone who will listen. 

 

I believe that every time we consciously breathe up and down our spines… we get to choose which 2000 bits of information we want to attract into our experience. 

 

Sadhguru is my yoga guru and I have been faithfully practicing postures with him daily for the past 7 months… postures that specifically open my spine. 

 

Here are two quotes about our spines from this amazing  teacher: 

 

“Your perception is largely handled by your spine”

”Even a slight overload of the spine will create problems, because it is a subtle thing, made of 33 pieces of bone. It is very important that the spine is exercised. Otherwise, it will become rigid and useless. If you do not exercise it, your ability to experience life decreases dramatically.”

Things that have shifted since I began my spinal practice with Sadhguru: 

 

❤️ My mental clarity has never, ever, ever been this good!  

(Such a fun thing for an ADD chick with thyroid issues to be able to say) 

 

❤️ I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get my heels to the floor in the ‘Down Dog’ yoga posture during 10 years of regular practice. 

I got my heels to the floor after 3 months of spinal work… without doing one single actual ‘Down Dog’! 

 

❤️ My self-awareness is heightened! Anytime I speak or think words that are not my truth… I can feel it in my body! I can feel that I am not in alignment. I can feel that energy is not moving through my spine properly. 

 

❤️ Old injuries do not hurt anymore! My left knee and right neck feel the best they have felt in 20 years! 

 

❤️ New sore spots are making themselves known!  

Anytime I think mean things about myself or speak words that would have others believe that I. Am. Not. Worthy. The middle of my upper back, right behind my heart… aches!  

Anytime I act unwillingly, out of responsibility or obligation and feel resentment, injustice or anger… my lower back gives me a quick little nervy yucky zap! ⚡️ 

 

My body is taking no prisoners… I know too much now!  

 

If I allow body pain to remind me to use my breath to stay in alignment and to keep my spine open… I can easily remember my new favorite phrase…

This seems to be the sweet spot for me…  

Feel body pain. 

Stop what I am doing. 

Lengthen my spine. 

Inhale from the tip of my tailbone, up my spine and out the top of my head. 

Exhale from the top of my head, down my spine and out the bottom of my tailbone. 

Say the above phrase out loud or in my mind. (You can use any phrase that resonates for you) 

Tap into some of the 400 Billion bits of information flowing through my body every second that offer love, worthiness, prosperity and fun. 

Release the untrue, unkind, or fear based thoughts that I was thinking just prior to feeling the body pain… with one more big breath! 

 

Your spine, spinal cord and brain act as an incredibly powerful antenna. Constantly transmitting and receiving information.  

 

I have learned, through 10 years of meditation with Dr. Joe Dispenza, that this information is filtered through seven energy centres in the body. These seven chakras act as gates which help to regulate the flow of energy up and down the spine… if 400 Billion bits of information all flowed up the spine at once… it would blow the top of our heads off. 

 

Each energy center comes online sequentially as we age. They each require a different awareness, around different thoughts, ideas and beliefs. This gradual maturing into our own grace allows us to pick and choose which 2000 pieces of information we would like to be aware of in each moment… the things that matter to us individually!

This year you will spend 8 months, Oct to May, tuning into your breath, opening & exercising your spine, and balancing your seven energy centers. 

 

The goal is to improve your mental clarity, increase your flexibility and agility, decrease your body pain and take your connection and self-awareness through the roof! 

 

Each class will build upon the previous one, as you learn how to keep your spine open & supple and sequentially align your energy centers. 

 

Oct. 9th - Introduction to Your Sweet Spine 

 

Nov. 13th - The Root Chakra 

 

Dec. 11th - The Womb Chakra 

 

Jan. 8th - The Solar Plexus Chakra 

 

Feb. 12th - The Heart Chakra 

 

Mar. 5th - The Throat Chakra 

 

Apr. 9th - The 3rd Eye Chakra 

 

May 14th - The Crown Chakra
