As the Light Changes
Have you noticed the evenings arriving a little earlier now? š
With the Fall Equinox happening this week, we are beginning the journey of less hours of daylight each day. The light is unmistakably changingā¦
the sun sets sooner,
the mornings cooler, and
there's a coziness creeping into the air that has us reaching for the kettle and an extra layer š§”
Alongside all of this, you might be noticing something in yourself as well š¤ Things likeā¦
a little less get-up-and-go,
a pull toward earlier bedtimes,
a quieter kind of energy.
If this is you, I would like to gently offer you this: nothing is wrong š„°
Sometimes the world we live in wants to treat every dip in our energy as a problem to be fixed⦠worrying that it is a sign that we're falling behind.
However, we are creatures of nature, sweet friends, and nature does not bloom at full tilt year-round. As the days shorten, it's the most natural thing in the world for our bodies to want to draw inward and slow down as well.
The trees aren't panicking as they prepare to let their leaves go ~ they're simply honouring the season⦠what if we allowed ourselves the same grace?
My invitation to you this week is⦠rather than pushing against your body's quieter rhythm, meet it with curiosity, gentleness and a breath.
When you feel that softer, slower energy arrive, pause and simply notice it ~ no judgment, no fixing.
As we embrace and accept the change of the season outside; letās embrace and accept the same subtle shift within ourselves šš§” This is not about curling up and hibernating, its about giving yourself permission to pause, notice and accept that you also have seasons that wax and wane...
As the light changes around us, may we allow ourselves to adapt along with it⦠trusting our bodies, honouring our seasons, and resting as needed.
Embracing our own rhythms and being kind to ourselves is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves⦠one sweet, unhurried breath at a time šš¼š„
Love,
